Helene was a member of the chorus of the The Greenwich Village Follies of 1920 and the Ziegfeld Follies of 1919. She was injured in an accident when a car belonging to Philip Morgan Plant hit a tree at a turn near Pelham Bay Park, where she received injuries to her face and upper body. She later married Don Newmeyer and is the mother of actress Julie Newmar.
