Max Landis (born February 2, 1993) is an American basketball player who currently plays for Crelan Okapi Aalstar of the Belgian Basketball League.College career Landis attended Gardner-Webb for his first two years of college eligibility, then transferred to Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) for his final two seasons. As a senior in the 2015–16 season, Landis was named the Summit League Player of the Year.Professional career After a successful senior campaign, Landis conducted workouts with the Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Utah Jazz, and his hometown team Indiana Pacers. On June 15, 2016, Landis signed with Crelan Okapi Aalstar of the Belgian Basketball League.Former Perry Meridian standout Max Landis was named the Summit League's Player of the Year on Thursday.The IPFW guard, who won the league's player of the week award four times this season, is averaging 18.7 points and 3.6 assists for the league's regular-season champions.Landis, who transferred from Gardner-Webb after the 2012-13 season, doubled his points average fom last season (9.3 to 18.7) and is shooting .465 from 3-point range.Landis is IPFW's first Player of the Year selection after averaging 22.9 points per league game while leading the Mastodons to their first league crown. He ranked second in scoring and led in points, minutes played and made 3-pointers during conference play.One of the highlights of the season came Feb. 4 when Landis led the Mastodons to a 95-82 road win at South Dakota with a school-record 44 points, making 15-of-21 shots from the field, including a school-record 11 3-pointers. The 44 points tied the fifth-highest total in Division I this season and is the sixth-most ever in a Summit League game.Landis' coach Jon Coffman also took home some hardware, winning Summit League Coach of the Year after guiding the Mastodons to a 23-8 record and the league's top seed heading into the Summit League tournament, which begins Saturday.
