Robert Roldan was born as Robert Jeremiah Roldan. He is an actor, known for So You Think You Can Dance (2005), Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016) and Breaking Through (2015). Robert Roldan has been a dancer for most of his life. He became well known though the popular reality TV show "So You Think You Can Dance" (SYTYCD). The young performer has had quite a few setbacks, but is still determined to achieve his dancing dreams. Roldan specializes in contemporary dance.Early LifeRobert Jeremiah Roldan is a dancer born on July 21, 1993. He lives in California and trained in the art of hip-hop dancing starting at 11 years old. Once he was through with high school, he danced with the noteworthy dance company, "Bad Boys of Dance". He remained with them for 18 months.Guest Star RolesRoldan's an actor as well as a dancer. He portrayed characters on two television series and one television movie. The series were "Chasing 8s" and "Glee, " and the movie was "Grace, " where he played the part of a dancer. He was also on two episodes of "All the Right Moves" and on "Dancing with the Stars."So You Think You Can DanceThe show where Roldan received dancing credits and earned legions of fans was, "So You Think You Can Dance, " where he performed from 2010 to 2013. Because he had no formal training in ballroom dancing, he was unsure how well he'd be able to perform. He was a finalist in season 7.Car AccidentRoldan's talents and ability as a performer were put in jeopardy one night in June 2012. On that evening, he was involved in a horrific car accident that at the time altered the course of his life. He was severely injured. As he painstakingly worked to recover from the injuries, his doctors told him that most people don't live through the type of accident he'd just survived, let alone even make it to the hospital. They also told him it was doubtful he'd dance again.Road to RecoveryRobert was grateful and thankful to be alive and determined to dance again. He shared the announcement about his car accident on his Facebook fan page explaining why he wouldn't be an All Star. After the news was released, he received an outpouring of support and encouragement. He worked for several months in physical therapy to get his strength back. It was a long and painful road for the dancer.Performance with Tucker KnoxRobert recovered from his injuries and performed a routine on "So You Think You Can Dance" with Tucker Knox. This was Robert's first performance after his accident. The duo danced a contemporary routine choreographed by Travis Wall. The routine was performed to the haunting song "Medicine" by Daughter. Their dance performance brought the audience as well as the judges to tears.Roldan was the third place finalist in season 7 of "So You Think You Can Dance". His dance with Tucker Knox in season 10 was named one of the most emotional dances of the season. He's currently still dancing and working toward full recovery after the accident. Although he stated he'll never be an All Star, his story is memorable.
