Eugene Mazzola

Short Biography

Eugene Mazzola was born in Hollywood, California, to a large family, all in the film business. His father was Leonard Al Mazzola, who started in Vaudeville in 1915. His mother was Saveria Mazzola, who was in The Godfather: Part II (1974). He is the sixth of seven children, the fifth of five boys. His family is steeped in the motion picture industry. Eugene started working in the business at an early age as Anthony Caruso baby in The Asphalt Jungle (1950). He did a few more movies before being cast in The Ten Commandments (1956) opposite Yul Brynner as the Pharaoh Rameses' son. After The Ten Commandments Mazzola used the stage name Eugene Martin and had a very successful career as a child actor, becoming a member of SAG in 1964. Mazzola served in the Navy from 1968 to 1970. He was stationed on the Mekong River and in DaNang, Viet Nam. When he returned from Nam he served as a photo journalist for the Navy in San Diego. Afer the Navy, Mazzola returned to Hollywood where he went to college and continued acting. In 1972 he started working behind the camera. Mazzola produced his first film, Joyride (1977), in 1976; that was the same year he joined the DGA. Mazzola moved to Seattle in 1980. He owned and operated the Cine Companies, based in Seattle, from 1984 to 1993. He has never stopped ADing, Production Managing and Producing films. Mazzola married his high school sweetheart, 'Zita Mazzola' and has three children, Saveria T. Mazzola, Richard-Augustus (RA), and Sebastian Mazzola. He lives with his wife in the country northeast of Seattle.
