Short Biography

Tony Montana is an independent filmmaker endorsed by Pulitzer Prize winner Roger Ebert on four consecutive projects of varying genres including Overnight, Best Friend, Rebuilt and Discover. He is an LA based writer/director/actor best known for his directorial debut, the theatrically released four star Hollywood cult film "Overnight", which premiered as an Official Selection of the Sundance Film Festival. His work has been critically praised by each of the three major entertainment industry trades; The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Screen International. As a director Montana has been profiled in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times. He has guest lectured at each of the three major film schools, NYU, USC and UCLA. His work has screened at Cannes, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Directors Guild of America. Montana began in the entertainment industry acting on national television with a four-year stint portraying a villain professional wrestling manager on cable television's Sportschannel and ESPN. He studied acting in New York with Bill Hickey (protege' of Uta Hagen), then Los Angeles with Tracey Roberts (protege' of Elia Kazan), Joel Asher (protege' of Sanford Meisner) David LeGrant (protege' of Lee Strasberg) and Catherine Carlen (protege' of Stella Adler).Grandson of Tony Snow, a renowned vaudeville performer and promoter in Europe during World War II.Before entering the entertainment industry, he operated a highly successful personal training business. His list of clients included Dr. Dre and Caroline Kennedy.He is a member of Mensa with an IQ of 141.
