Allison Bridges

Short Biography

Allison began to study yoga in 1998 when she moved to NYC to attend college at New York University. After graduating and receiving a BFA in Photography, she continued her pursuits in the fields of art and photography in addition to working as a fashion model. After years of toying with the idea of teaching yoga, she enrolled and completed the Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training Course. She was certified as a Jivamukti Yoga Instructor in September of 2003. In a time marked by so much pain, suffering and violence yoga offers dedicated individuals a means of finding true happiness. Allison passionately believes that the practice of yoga offers hope for the future of the whole earth, including all living things. Her interest in teaching yoga stems from her desire to spread these sacred teachings giving as many people as possible the tools needed to experience enlightenment in this lifetime. Her hope, is that in turn, her students will then spread what they have learned with others, thus becoming vehicles for positive social change. Allison`s asana classes are infused with reflections on the yogic teachings balancing the physical with the spiritual aspect of the practice. Her love of music overflows into her classes with her mixes which she carefully plans out before each class. She always hopes to go beyond just teaching a good class and instead strives to create an uplifting and inspiring experience for as many people as possible.
