Born Miriam Frances Gow (b. 17 June, 1971, aged 37), Mimi Macpherson, an anti-whaling activist, one of supermodel Elle Macpherson`s younger sisters, is a celebrity in her own right within Australia. Mimi Macpherson is known for her passion for whales, and is involved in a whale watching business. She was a presenter on the Discovery Channel. In 2007 Mimi appeared on the reality singing competition It Takes Two paired with David Hobson; they were eliminated in the semi-final and came third. She is also known for her homemade explicit sex tape in which she has sex with her then boyfriend Michael Hellwig, then masturbates to orgasm. The tape was leaked onto the Internet in the late 90`s, dramatically increasing her fame worldwide and is still widely available.On March 19, 2007, she was convicted of a driving under the influence of alcohol charge in a Queensland court, her third conviction following similar incidents in 1995 and 2001. In December 2008, Macpherson declared bankruptcy.
