She was married to Sydney Pollack. She died on March 28, 2011 in West Hollywood, California.One of only two or three actresses seriously considered by Alfred Hitchc*ck for the lead role in Marnie (1964), should Tippi Hedren not work out for some reason. However, at the end of 1963, she instead retired from acting to be a full-time mother to the children she bore by husband Sydney Pollack.Mother of Rachel Pollack Sorman, Rebecca Pollack Parker and Steven Pollack.
