Short Biography
Robert has been a leader in the American theatre for over 25 years as a producer, director and dramaturge. He has developed and directed hundreds of new plays in the United States and Europe. He is the Artistic Director/Producer of the acclaimed Ojai Playwrights Conference which develops new plays that speak to the challenging social, political and moral issues of our day. Prior to Ojai he was the Producing Artistic Director of Los Angeles’ award winning Mark Taper Forum for 20 seasons and was Founding Artistic Director of its internationally acclaimed New Work Festival for 15 seasons where he produced and developed Angels in America and Kentucky Cylce, both Pulitzer Prize winners. Robert is also the former Associate Artistic Director of the Seattle Repertory Theatre where he created their award winning new play program, The Other Season. Before joining Wattsmedia, Robert founded RHEgan Productions LLC and Eye Street Media which conceived and produced films and live events for major organizations throughout the US.
