Josip Šimunić (born 18 February 1978) is a Croatian former footballer. He has played for Croatia since 2001 till 2013, including participations in five major tournaments – World Cup 2002, World Cup 2006, Euro 2004, Euro 2008 and Euro 2012 – and is the third most capped player in the history of the Croatia national team.
