Larissa Giroux

Short Biography

As the CFC’s Associate Director of Talent Development, Programs, Larissa Giroux helped launch the Actors Conservatory (Now CBC Actors Conservatory) and the Slaight Music Residency Programs, and is responsible for delivering these programs. She is a senior member of the Program Management team and plays a lead role in the strategic design of these programs, their integration across all program offerings, and in building international relationships to maximize packaging opportunities for our acting and music talent.Her background and previous experience spans producing, casting, and talent management. As an independent producer, Giroux's credits include Su Rynard’s Alfred P. Sloan award-winning feature Kardia, Risa Bramon Garcia’s feature The Con Artist, starring Donald Sutherland, and Claude Jutra Award recipient Jeffrey St. Jules’s short The Tragic Story of Nling. She worked alongside top casting directors such as Robin D. Cook and Jon Comerford to cast films for Frank Pierson, John Ridley and Brad Peyton, and worked with talent manager Perry Zimel at Oscars Abrams Zimel to support clients such as Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Lesley Hope, Emmy nominee Kenneth Walsh and Academy Award©-winning Christopher Plummer.Giroux is an alumna of the CFC’s Producers’ Lab, TIFF Talent Lab, NSI’s Features First, and attended the Berlinale Talent Campus, the Sundance Institute’s Independent Producers Conference, Cannes Producers Network and India’s Film Bazaar. She is a voting member of the Academy, juries TIFF Rising Stars, and is a regular guest speaker on industry panels.
