Ntozake Shange (/ˈɛntɵzɑːkiː ˈʃɑːŋɡeɪ/ EN-tə-ZAH-kee SHAHNG-gay; born October 18, 1948) is an American playwright, and poet. As a self-proclaimed black feminist, she addresses issues relating to race and feminism in much of her work.
