Short Biography
Writer/Producer, Sanja Banic set up KnightMarcher Films in 2012 with partner Sean Brosnan with the intention of making unique and dynamic films with strong commercial appeal.She has worked in the independent film industry for the last eight years. A graduate of NYC’s Pace University Lubin School of Business, Sanja was studying at Pace when she found herself working on her first film production, on the set for “Fantastic Four”. From there, her spark for the entertainment industry was lit, and it wasn't too long after before she began writing and producing her own work. s.Sanja cut her teeth writing and producing a number of short films and music videos including the multi-award winning short film, "SAVANNA" which she wrote and co-produced with Coatwolf Productions. “SAVANNA”, a controversial piece directed by Vincent Grashaw (“Bellflower”, “Coldwater”) premiered at the 2010 Beverly Hills Film Festival and won the "Excellence in Film" award at the Accolade Film Competition. She's currently on the festival circuit with one her latest projects, a featurette titled “The Kid”, which was Sean Brosnan’s directorial debut. “The Kid”, recently had it's world premiere at the 2013 Raindance Film Festival in London and picked up a best short film award at the Louisville International Festival of Film. Their other feature, “63 Lbs”, starring Michael Madsen is set to hit the festival circuit early 2014.Sanja is very passionate about tackling social and global issues and continues to write keeping her main objective in mind; to inspire, educate, entertain and is an active member of Women In Film.She is in a partnership with Sean Brosnan at KnightMarcher Films which is currently developing several upcoming films, television shows, and currently prepping one of the first features under the KnightMarcher banner, titled “Abashed and Amused”, which they co-wrote together and thatSean will direct in Spring 2014
