Agnieszka Adamczak

Short Biography

Agnieszka Adamczak studied singing at the Paderewski Accademy of Music in Poznan and completed her studies at the Rome opera studio under the guidance of Renata Scotto. As a member of the Zuerich International Opera Studio, she could be heard in various roles at Opernhaus Zürich. She participated in masterclasses under the tutelage of Teresa Zylis-Gara and Francisco Araiza. Ms Adamczak has won first prizes at the 2010 Concorso Internazionale di Canto La Bohème in Verona as well as at the 2009 Anneliese Rothenberger Competition in Mainau and the second prize of the 2010 Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna. She is a frequent guest at the opera house of her home town Poznan, where since her stage debut in 2006 as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, she could be heard in roles such as Frau Fluth in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor and Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro. In 2009 Ms Adamczak debuted the role of Musetta in La bohème in Verona. Engagements of the last three year include Nicolette in L'Amour des trois oranges at Grand Théâtre de Genève, Musetta for Glyndebourne on tour and a concert with Mozart arias at the Aix-en-Provence Festival. In January 2014 she made her debut in the role of Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) in Oviedo, in February 2014 sang Edwige in Offenbach's Robinson Crusoe in Szczecin and in March 2014 she performed Donna Anna in a new production of Don Giovanni at Poznan Opera. Engagements of the 2014/2015 season include Donna Elvira in Pamplona and Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos at Zurich Opera. Other roles of her repertoire are Micaela (Carmen), Adina (L'elisir d'amore), Gilda (Rigoletto) and Violetta (La Traviata). Her concert repertoire includes Bach's Matthäuspassion, Händel's Messiah, Mozart's Coronation Mass and Requiem as well as Orff's Carmina Burana. Agnieszka Adamczak has recorded Poulenc's Huit Chansons polonaises with Graham Johnson for Hyperion. May 2015
