James William Harris (born November 24, 1943 in Hamlet, North Carolina) is a former Major League Baseball second baseman who played for two seasons. He played for the Cleveland Indians in 1968 and the Kansas City Royals in 1969. Harris was interviewed by author Doug Kurkul for the book, "Portrait of a Franchise: An Intimate Look at Cleveland Indians Baseball During the Rockin' Sixties." Harris describes in the book his quick ascent from college ballplayer to minor league prospect to major league infielder.
