Short Biography
Christian Ramsay, Countess of Dalhousie (informally Lady Dalhousie, née Broun; 28 February 1786 – 22 January 1839) was a botanist and natural historian from Scotland. She married the 9th Earl of Dalhousie, and travelled with him to Canada and India while he was appointed Governor General of each of the colonies. Whilst travelling to these places, she collected and catalogued many species of plants, presenting scientific papers to societies and donating multiple collections to different botanical groups.
