Ebru Cansiz Atay

Short Biography

Dancer born in 1980. Graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory Classical Ballet Department in 2000. During her education years, she attended courses focusing on ballet and contemporary dance at The Royal Academy in 1992, in White Mountain Summer Dance Festival in 1999.After her graduation from the conservatory, she started dancing as a soloist dancer in İstanbul State Opera and Ballet Company. Some of the works that she participated as a first soloist dancer are : Ferhat Şirin, Carmina Burana, Giselle, La Fille Mal Gardee, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, The Swan Lake, La Bayadere, Paquita, Emrah &Selvihan;, Vertiguous Thrill of Exactitude, Circle of Fifth, East Side Story, İlişkiler, Rosegarden , Bolero, Hüsn-ü Aşk, İstanbul, Mi Favorita, Don Quixote, La Dame aux Camelias, Miniatür, Hürrem Sultan, Afife Jale , Sylvia, Contarst etc.Ebru Cansız has worked with choreographers such as: Christopher D’amboise, William Forsyhte , Jose Martinez , Patrick de Bana, Uve Scholz, Geyvan Mcmillan , Aysun Aslan, Mehmet Balkan, Beyhan Murphy, Uğur Seyrek , Oytun Turfanda Giorgio Rossi and Alessandro Sciaronni, Young Soon Hue , Marc Ribaud..She has also participated the masterclasses of the following artists: Bruce Samson, Aeron Watkin, Robert Denvers, Manuel Legris , Julian Moss, Giovanni De Palma, Irek Mukhamedov.Cansız has worked with actors and actresses of Semaver Company of Istanbul, focusing on body awareness and drama performance. There she has established "Deva" an indipendent movement theater. Ebru Cansız continues creating her works on dance and choreography since 2008. Ebru Cansız is a permanent artist of Istanbul State Opera and Ballet and she keeps on dancing on several works both in Turkey and around the world.
