Iren Azer

Short Biography

Iren (Irina) Azer was born on 18th or 19th of 1949 in Teheran, Iran or in Baku, Soviet Azerbaidjan. There is no exact information on her birthday and birth place. Her parents are unknown. She was adopted to her step-father Resa Azer, general and personal ennemy of the last shakh Mohhamed Resa Pekhlevi. He belonged to a richissimus Persian family. Resa escaped to the URSS and lived in Baku as political refugee in a luxurious villa. Sonn, Resa and his family moved to Moscow. Resa worked in Moscow Institute of the East. Irina worked as model for Viktor Voznesensky in 1965-1977. In 1968 Irina was admitted to the prestigeous theatre school VGIK. Short time before his death Resa returned to Teheran. The revolution of 1978 deprived Resa`s family of their properties. Iren and her sister Dela (Delaram) had to flee back to Moscow. Iren became Irina again. In 1978-1990 she played various small and big roles in 31 films. In 1990s Irina opened a small store trading women underwear. This business was more profitable than acting in movies or on stage at that time. Her private life is almost unknown. Irina was married to a handsome man Yuri. They divorced because of Yuri`s infidelity with famous American actress Natalie Wood. Irina and Yuri had a daughter, Victoria, who lives actually in the USA.Victoria has a son Yuri, born in 1996 in Moscow.
