Larrington Walker was born in Kingston, Jamaica and came to England in 1956. He was educated at St. Vincent de Paul’s Junior School in Mill Hill and at St Thomas More’s School, Sloane Square.Larrington was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company between 2008 -2011. Roles included ‘Adam’ in As You Like It, ‘Soothsayer’ in Julius Caesar and ‘Old Shepherd’ in The Winters Tale.Other theatre appearances include Jenufa at the Arcola, a tour of Daddy Cool, Pat Cumper and Delroy Murray’s musical Ska Ba Day at the Greenwich Theatre, Playboy of The West Indies at the Tricycle Theatre and Nottingham Playhouse, Stuff Happens at the National Theatre. Other theatre work includes Driving Miss Daisy at Oldham, Wrong Time at the Soho Theatre, The Free State at the Birmingham Rep and on tour, Lost in The Stars (New Sussex Opera – Brighton), Old Time Story at Stratford East’s Theatre Royal, The Merchant of Venice at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Guys and Dolls and The Beggars Opera, both at the National Theatre.Larrington’s television appearances include episodes of Casualty, Doctors, The Bill, Beck, Peak Practice, Inspector Morse, Playdays, and Tecx , and a regular role in three BBC series – Thin Air, You and Me and The Chinese Detective.He has also starred in films – Lamb for Colin Gregg Films, Burning Illusion for the British Film Institute and Human Traffic, in which he played Koop’s father, for Fruit Salad Films.He has worked frequently in radio, most recently playing Rudy in the BBC 4 series Courtyard Theatre with Lenny Henry.Larrington also works as a writer/producer/director and his play with music on the life of Harriet Tubman was performed at the Courtyard Theatre, Leeds.Other credits are Unforgettable the life of Nat King Cole at the Garrick Theatre (which he co-wrote and directed), soundtrack for Busy in The City, 2 albums for Jimmy Lindsay, Waiting Room and You and Me for BBC Television.
