In his career, Lee Sang-Mook has been a professor at Seoul National University and a researcher. His research focuses on tectonic plates, underwater earthquakes, and volcanoes. Lee Sang-Mook has received numerous awards, including the Medal of Merit in South Korea. As of 2014, Lee Sang-Mook is a dean at the Graduate School of Convergence Science and technology.
