Short Biography
Walter Criswell, is the stern and strict manager of the convient store that Maggie Peterson and Karen Barclay work at. He's a minor character, he scolds Karen when she leaves her jewerly stand to go and by Andy a Good Guy doll from a peddler.He then informs Karen that an employee Mrs. Howell has called in sick. So Karen would have to take her spot, though she tries to wiggle out of it, Mr. Criswell threatens to fire her if she doesn't. Maggie offered to take her spot, but he reminds Maggie that she works in the shoe department, not the jewerly department.Unable to leave, Maggie offers to babysit Andy for her. She then says jokingly, "Don't be silly. It'll be the hottest date, I've had in months". Criswell sarcastically adds "I can't imagine why". Meaning he knows a little bit at least about some of his employees public life. Or at least Maggie's bad luck in dating.
