Erik Olof Mellberg (born 3 September 1977 in Amnehärad, Gullspång) is a Swedish former footballer who played as a central defender or right-back. During his career Mellberg was described as being "big, strong and exceptional in the air". He is best known for playing the majority of his career at Aston Villa as well as spells with Italian side Juventus and Greek side Olympiacos.
