Wesley Wade Bankston (born November 23, 1983 in Dallas, Texas) is a former Major League Baseball first baseman who is a free agent. At Plano East High School, he played baseball and football as an outfielder and starting quarterback, respectively. Bankston was committed to playing for the University of Texas before the Tampa Bay Devil Rays drafted him in the 4th round (104th overall) in the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft. On June 17, 2002, he signed with the Devil Rays.
