Short Biography

Zahf Paroo is an internationally featured performer who has been working professionally since 1995 in film, television, theatre and animation.A trained theatre veteran, Zahf has spent much of his career alternating in work between stage and screen.Zahf began his career doing theatre in Calgary, Alberta after graduating with honors from the Theatre Arts program at Mount Royal College. After moving to Vancouver, he began working in film and TV, with notable appearances in Stargate-SG1, Scary Movie and the Canadian reality television show "Sketch Troop" (as well as the follow-up documentary "The Road to Funny"). The comedic work in these shows led to multiple performances at the prestigious "Just for Laughs" Festival in Montreal, Canada.These paths opened up doors the Fox film "Say it isn't So" where director J.B. Rogers and producers Bobby & Peter Farrely created a role for Zahf and gave him collaborative freedom to create dialogue. Zahf then surprised audiences when he was unmasked as one of the two arch-villains along with Alicia Silverstone in Warner Bros. Scooby Doo 2.Audiences may also recognize Zahf from playing the role of antagonist Vijay Patek in the ABC television series "3 Moons Over Milford" or as "Tyler" in the Leo and Gemini Award winning Canadian series "Edgemont".In 2004, he opened the original Broadway production of the musical "Bombay Dreams", produced by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, featuring music by the inspirational A.R. Rahman. The performance track included acting, singing, dancing, playing multiple characters, and understudying both male leads in the production. "Bombay Dreams" ran for a year at the Broadway Theatre in New York with a run of 314 performances. The show was nominated for 2 Tony Awards and 4 Drama Desk Awards.In 2009, Zahf was one of the stars of the international television series "Defying Gravity", playing Ajay Sharma. The series was globally distributed and featured on ABC, the BBC2, CTV, Space and ProSieben. It ran for 13 episodes.In 2012, he was busy playing integral roles in the series "Fairly Legal", "Fringe", "Continuum" and "Psych" as well as being featured in a Canadian national A&W; campaign.Keep your eyes our for Zahf in 2013, in the Legendary Pictures upcoming feature film "The Seventh Son", playing "Virahadra".
