Linus Sandgren (born December 5, 1972 in Stockholm, Sweden) is an Academy Award winning Swedish cinematographer. Sandgren is most known for his work with Damien Chazelle on La La Land and his collaboration with David O Russell on the films American Hustle and Joy. He worked with Gus Van Sant on Promised Land where he shot the film in a unique format, Super 35mm 1.3x anamorphic. He received his first nomination and win for the Academy Award for Best Cinematography. He also won the BAFTA Award , Hollywood Film Award, the Critics Choice Award, and won another 19 critics awards for his cinematography in Damien Chazelle's La La Land which he shot in the classic Cinemascope ratio 2.55:1.
