Short Biography

Darlene and her husband lived in Haddonfield where they used to hire Laurie Strode to babysit their young daughter Rachel. The Carruthers became very close to Laurie and when she ahd her husband died in a automobile accident, they adopted Laurie's daughter Jamie Lloyd. They grown very close to Jamie and tried their best to make her feel like family. On October 31, 1988 Darlene had to attent a party that would possibly give Richardson a promotion at work if things went well. Jamie's originally babysitter had to cancel so they were forced to have Rachel babysit, at first Rachel complained about how her night was ruined but Jamie happened to overhear everything. After they left their house for the party, Darlene had no idea what happened to her daughters over the night and only find things out when Rachel and Jamie were taken home by Sheriff Ben Meeker who told them of the events. Darlene went to take Jamie to get cleaned up and started to get her bath ready. When she heard someone enter the bathroom, she saw Jamie with a pair of scissors and wearing her clown mask. Jamie stabbed her and Darlene screamed with alerted everyone in the house. Darlene survived this attack and the Carruthers then placed Jamie in the Haddonfield Children's Clinic. They would visit her from time to time, showing that they still cared about her. By the time Halloween came around next year, they decided to rent a cabin in the woods and invited their daughter Rachel to join them
