Daniel James Nava (born February 22, 1983) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Boston Red Sox. Nava is only the fourth player in MLB history to hit a grand slam in his first major league at bat and the second to do it on the first pitch. Nava has also filled in at first base for the Red Sox. He throws and bats left-handed, though he was a switch hitter before 2015. He wore number 60 to start his career but had to switch to 66, after being demoted, the Red Sox got a pitcher, Scott Schoeneweis who took 60. Then he switched to 29, when he was claimed by Tampa Bay off waivers, he chose 7.
