Short Biography
Anita Chellamah Mahadervan was born on 9th February 1959 in Newcastle. She performed on "Top of the Pops" for a year with Legs & Co (as a replacement for Pauline Peters) and then performed with Zoo. She also appeared on "Top of the Pops" as part of Toto Coelo whose single 'I Eat Cannibals' went to number 6 in the charts. Toto Coelo released several other singles, including a worldwide album and a number One single in Australia, before splitting. Following this, Anita was the lead singer, and co-wrote the album, for the Cherry Bombz who toured America, supporting Poison. She was voted 10th Best Female Vocalist by Sounds one year in the 1980s and also their single was voted 16th Best.She then presented and had her own shows on Skytrax, a music channel on Sky, and sang Skytrax's 5th Anniversary song. She acted on telelvision in "The Bill" , "The Practical Guide to Divorce" and "One Foot in the Grave" and can be seen in the films "Judas and the Gimp" and "Nutcracker".She is currently writing and performing her own material as Anita Chellamah and also works as a qualified counsellor. She is recording a solo ablum and is involved in the production of the album, with all the songs written or co-written by herself.. She has an acting agent.
