Short Biography

Anna James is a British decorative artist, specialist painter and jewelry designer best known for restoring and transforming antique furniture into pieces of contemporary art.James was born and raised in Devon. She travelled around the world in her late teens then moved to London to start training, serving a long apprenticeship with a team of painters across the capital.James has worked for English designers "Smallbone of Devizes". before establishing her own design firm, "Love Anna James"in 2008. She is a member of Creativations-Chelsea and has featured in The Telegraph and WeHeart.co.uk as well as international art, fashion and interior design magazines such as Interior Complex, Elle, Vogue, Architectural Digest and Glamour.She handpainted a cello commissioned by international musician Natalie Clein which was showcased and played by Clein for the first time at the Wallace Collection. The vintage graffitti dresser she restored and handpainted called Verona, valued at $35, 000[citation needed], was featured in Vogue and several online design websites.As of 2013, she has participated in exhibitions for Tanya Baxter Gallery, London Design Festival, Orleans House, Clerkenwell Design Week, Homes & Interiors Scotland Exhibition, Culture Label, Urban Spaces and Tent London.James started dating actor Benedict Cumberbatch in early 2011 but seperated in 2012. As of 2013, her studio and residence is a converted perfume factory in South East London.
