Short Biography

Patrick Watson grew up in upstate New York where in High School he held several records in both Cross-Country running as well as Track & Field.Patrick attended Northern Arizona University where he raced on the 1988 Division I NCAA National Champion Cross-Country Team.He set several personal records in Cross-Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field before receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1992.After college and some much-needed competition time-off Patrick began Racing again in 1995, this time competing in Mountain Bike, Road Bike, Cyclo-Cross, Duathlon's and shorter Adventure Races in California.Within 1999 and 2000 he became a successful Category 3 Road Bike and Criterium racer under the USCF governing body (United States Cycling Federation) and an Expert Mountain Bike racer on the NORBA circuit (National Off-Road Bike Association).Patrick was a fourth place finisher at the 2000 Bud Light California State Mountain Bike Championships and has also competed in six of the Hi-Tec Adventure Races, placing in two of them.His long distance adventure racing career started in 2000 at the inaugural 24 hour FogDog Adventure Race where he and his teammates Dennis Lane, and Matt Runfola had a fourth place finish for Team Men's Health.Ever since the FogDog finish he has concentrated his efforts in long distance adventure racing with his two teammates.He has been training throughout the year 2001 while competing in the Cal Eco Series, placing in the 12 Hours at the Summit and winning the 24 Hours of Adrenaline with teammate, Dennis Lane. Patrick's experience has given him the opportunity to train endurance enthusiasts while still working full time as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative in the Los Angeles area.Patrick resides in Santa Monica, CA and is also proficient in rock climbing, kayaking, orienteering, weight training, skiing (water and snow) and basketball.As a sponsored athlete through Men's Health, Patrick has also competed on one of the Men's Health Teams at the Nautica Malibu Triathlon Benefiting The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.He will continue to expand his experience and knowledge by competing in the ever so growing sport of adventure racing
