Thomas Edward "Tom" Perez (born October 7, 1961) is an American politician, consumer advocate, civil rights lawyer, and Chair of the Democratic National Committee since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Perez was the United States Secretary of Labor from 2013 to 2017. Prior to that he served as the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice.
