Short Biography
Vivian Balakrishnan (born 25 January 1961) is a politician from Singapore. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he is currently the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources. He entered politics by winning uncontested his Member of Parliament (MP) seat for the historical Holland–Bukit Panjang GRC in the 2001 General Elections. He also served as the Second Minister for the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) until March 2008 and Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) until 2011.
