He was an actor, known for Shore Acres (1914), The Bolted Door (1923) and Whispering Shadows (1921). He was married to Frances Riley and Kate Claxton. He died on July 2, 1929 in New York City, New York, USA.In 1901 Stevenson claimed to have divorced Kate Claxton by publication, but she later sued him for divorce and won when Stevenson's second wife was already pregnant. Claxton was well known for her portrayal of Louise in "Two Orphans" on the stage and later sold film rights to D.W.
