Dallas Brennan

Short Biography

Born to actor parents; his father Tom Brennan is best known for his roles in Fatal Attraction, North/South; a JFK mini-series, and as a founder of the Whole Theatre Company with Olympia Dukakis. Dallas spent summers at the Williamstown Theatre Festival sitting in on rehearsals with the likes of Christopher Reeves, Tennesee Williams, Christopher Walken and Blythe Danner. After producing his own cultural arts magazine at Rutgers University (Evolve, 1988-91), he began playwriting in New York, attending Playwrights Horizons Theatre School.His talent naturally extended to screen-writing, and since 1995 Dallas has penned over a dozen original screenplays. His script for Rock the Paint (2005) received the Creative Promise award at the Tribeca Film Festival 2005 where it also World Premiered under his production banner Wren Court Films. Original music and score by Wyclef Jean.In 2010 Brennan joined Rabinder Sira and Chris Gilligan in establishing their production company Wild Invention Pictures with the intent of making quality independent films. They've since succeeded in sending three films to major festivals including "sh*t Year" at Cannes 2010 starring Ellen Barkin, "The Loneliest Planet" at Toronto 2011 starring Gael Garcia Bernal and "The Lifeguard" at Sundance 2013 starring Kristen Bell. "The Loneliest Planet" received critical acclaim in 2012 including a Gotham Award Nomination for Best Picture and an Independent Spirit Award Nomination for Best Director, Julia Loktev.Brennan has several projects in development with Wild Invention.
