Rosangela Barros Assed Matheus de Oliveira (Itaperuna, April 6, 1963) is a brazilian political broadcaster and TV presenter.She was the first woman to be elected governor of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Elected in 2002, successor of Benedicta da Silva, who was occupying the position due to the resignation of then-Governor Anthony Garotinho, husband of Rosie, who stepped down to run for the presidency. During the campaign used the name Rosinha Garotinho, to have his image associated with the husband, who at the time had more than 80% approval rating. Garotinho is the nickname that her husband uses and that consequently she used, not a surname.
